Instagram drafts let you write your posts, upload your picture and then save it to post at a later time. It’s one of my favorite features on the app (Gotta post at the right time, right?)
However, before I knew how to save Instagram drafts, I used to write my post in my iPhone messages and send it to myself (silly me!).
One day, a friend saw what I was doing, and he was kind enough to tell me about the draft feature without being judgy.

How to Save Instagram Post As Drafts?
Saving an Instagram post as a draft is a simple process, and here are the steps that will help you perform this task without much hassle.
Step #1: Tap on “+” Icon
Once you open your Instagram app, you will see several icons at the bottom. Select the “+” icon to move to the tab that lets you post anything on your feed.
Step #2: Select a Picture/Video to Post
Now among all the media items you see on your screen, select the picture or video you wish to share as a post on your Instagram account.
Step #3: Head to the “Share” screen
Once you have figured out what you want to post, perform all the tasks leading you to the final “Share” screen. Make any edits you wish along the way.
Step #4: Add Music
If you simply wish to save the post as a draft on your account, select one of the music options from the “Add music” section.
Tap “Done” on the next page.
Step #5: Tap “Save Draft”
Now that the music is added to your picture or video tap the “back arrow” on the top left corner of the screen.
Repeat the same process for the previous screen. You will finally see a “pop-up” appearing on your mobile screen. Select “Save Draft” and wait until the post is saved in your app as a draft.

How to Save Instagram Reel As Draft
Following are the steps you need to follow to save a reel as a draft on your Instagram app.
1. Select the “+” icon at the bottom of your app and tap the “REEL” option.
2. Tap the “Camera” icon at the top.
3. Press and hold the “White-circle” in the middle to record a video.
4. Tap “Next” once you are done, then select “Next” on the next screen.
5. Choose the “Save draft” option at the bottom to save the recorded reel as a draft on your app.
Sometimes, our saved drafts become too much for our phone’s memory. In such a case, you can delete your saved drafts to free up memory and speed up your app performance.
How to Save Instagram Story As Draft
To save a story on your Instagram account as a draft, you need to go through the following steps:
1. Tap the “Your story” option at the top of your screen.
2. Hit the “Camera” icon and hold the “White circle” in the middle to record a story.
3. Once you are done, select the “back arrow” at the top-left corner of your screen. A pop-up will appear before you.
4. Hit the “Save Draft” option to save the recorded story as a draft on your app.
